OPENING LETTER FOR THE 25th ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING AND SEMINAR
December 3, 2006

Dear Friends and Members:

On behalf of the Board of Directors of IAS, I would like to invite you to the 25th Annual General Meeting of IAS. This year we are proud to celebrate the silver anniversary of this great society. Since its inception, IAS has been providing charitable assistance to needy Iranians and financial contribution toward cultural and educational causes.

IAS has helped hundreds Iranian American children to write and speak Persian. IAS has promoted our rich Iranian heritage and culture, through conducting numerous concerts and performances by renowned Iranian artists and has been supporting and promoting many young Iranian talents, who are working hard to preserve and enrich Iranians and Iranian Americans with Iranian art, music, and poetry. IAS has always been a voice of social awareness and social responsibility and in many occasions has defended Iranian Americans against injustices, discriminations and unfair allegations.

For the past 25 years, IAS has worked harmoniously with local and national Iranian American communities and organizations. Indeed, IAS has always encouraged and promoted dialogs and interactions among all Iranian American organizations in the New York Metropolitan area. It is with this aspiration, that IAS on the eve of its 25th Anniversary is proud to bring you an important seminar to explore the Iranian American communities in the USA.

We have gathered some of the most distinguished Iranian Scholars and renowned lecturers with different fields of expertise, to discuses and analyze the relevant issues related to Iranian American Societies. They will discuss all the successes and all the failures, and all forgotten agendas, and goals. However we feel the most important part of this seminar; will be the panel discussion, where your input and contributions will make all the differences. It is our hope, that during an open, frank and constructive dialog we will find a way to work together more synergistically.

The meeting will take place on Sunday, January 7, 2007 at the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale, New York. We look forward to you joining us. We encourage you to bring along all your friends and all those who are eager to see a more united Iranian Americans.

With Best Regards,
Farhad Talebian, MD
President, IAS
